The honey is an item in Persian wedding ceremony. It is displayed so that after the couple is formally married, the bride and groom each dip one finger – the fifth, pinky finger – in the cup of honey and feed the honey from their Sofreh Aghd to bring the sweetness to eachother's life and to their marriage.
